Kayvon Sarfehjooy, professionally known as "K-Salaam" (born in 1977 in , ) is a Canadian-born American producer, turntablist, and educator. At age three, his family moved to , where he was raised for most of his childhood. He then moved to New York City to pursue a career in music. He currently resides in Vancouver, BC.
After releasing two critically acclaimed mixtapes The Hands of Time and Real DJs Do Real Things, he then moved to New York City to pursue a career as a Music Producer. His first album, The World Is Ours, was released on August 25, 2006 through his own label, along with his Production partner. The album was then re-released by / as Whose World is This in 2008. Featured on this release were a number of prolific underground artists, such as: , , , and , and artists such as , , and . The fuses and , and incorporates socially conscious themes.
K-Salaam went on to produce more albums as well as for internationally acclaimed artists such as: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , and many more. He then traveled to and produced s entire album, Doozicabraba e a Revolu癟瓊o Silenciosa, released in 2011, resulting in Emicida receiving 2011 Artist of the Year Award.
He also produced more songs with , as well as all of the songs on: & 's album (2012), Rael's Ainda Bem Que Eu Segui as Batidas do Meu Cora癟瓊o, and s&紳莉莽梯; (2013). Moreover, from 2011 - 2013, the duo did for - Creating custom made synth sounds & samples for the keyboard player & Drummer for her live shows.
In 2016, K went on to score music for NBCs coverage of the Olympic Games. His music has been featured in multiple video games, TV shows, & commercials. In 2022, his music was featured prominently in the Video Game Fortnite, as part of their Virtual Soundwave Series Concert. It was the #1 streaming Video Game at the time. The Virtual concert garnered so much attention that it was picked up by various major cinemas throughout Brazil, in which it aired for free for two weeks.
K-Salaam's production and are sought after by music professionals throughout the world.
